1815. No Edition Remarks. 214 pages. Elaborately gilt-tooled tan leather with 3 raised bands to spine. All text block edges gilt. Bookseller's sticker to front pastedown: 'R Jennings, Bookseller, 2 Poultry', so potentially their binding. B&W illustrated frontispiece. No adverts at rear. Pages are rather marked with pronounced tanning and foxing, plus thumbing. Slight gutter cracking, more so to hinges. Reasonably firm. Some mottling to endpapers. Sporadic minor stains throughout. Slight creases. Frontis tissue guard has been trimmed down (or perhaps was small to begin with). Boards have some edge wear, with pronounced bumping and rubbing to corners, while spine ends are crushed and rubbed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall, especially spine which is missing both title labels. Gilt is dulled and worn. Faint traces of a removed sticker to front board.
