Melanie Kreitler is a research associate at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen in the department of English and American literary, cultural, and media studies. Her research explores popular culture's influence on public perceptions of marginalized groups and focuses particularly on mental illness and LGBTQ+ communities. She has published on complex films and television shows, video games, and the intersections of medical and media discourses.

Greta Olson is a professor of English and American literary and cultural studies and director of the Center for Media and Interactivity at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen.
