Full blue cloth with gilt letter-ing to front cover & spine, blindstamped rules to boards, 9-7/8" x 6-3/8", 130 pp. Wear to head of spine, short tear to cloth to bottom front joint. Alexander Constantine Ionides was a patron of the arts who picked up a copy of this text in the original ancient Greek in 1895. This translation seems to have been a labor of love. Born in 1810, Ionides commissioned William Morris & Walter Crane to redecorate his final house. Not dated, but Ionides died in 1900.
