Divine Office for the Laity

Now it is easy to pray the Divine Office. This book provides the laity with morning (Lauds), evening (Vespers) and night (Compline) prayer to facilitate “praying without ceasing” throughout the day, according to the Breviary of 1954. At the same time one is reading over 100 Bible verses encompassing the course of the year, thus enriching one's knowledge of Scripture. The book is complete with both English and Latin, so one can pray using either as desired.

This volume is intended to provide simple access for the lay person to the Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours). The instructions are clear and concise and the method is streamlined. With a single prayer book one can pray Lauds, Vespers and Compline for the entire year while including the Propers of the Seasons and Saints and the Common of the Saints. The indexes of hymns, psalms and Scripture verses are in the appendix. This compact Divine Office is designed to be used for private prayer, with two or more persons or larger group prayer.
