About the Author
Cynthia Yoder has been helping people understand and carry out their purpose for the past ten years. She has worked with artists, CEO s, small business owners and other professionals in their quest to make a meaningful contribution to the communities they serve. Cynthia s unique approach combines real world understanding with six years of study with spiritual teacher and author David La Chapelle, where she learned the application of meditation, visualization, sound healing and intuitive listening to help others uncover their purpose and attain greater meaning in their lives. She has worked as a public relations writer for Princeton University and Bristol Myers-Squibb, interviewing top leaders in art, politics and science including Paul Muldoon and Joy Behar. As the communications director at New York s Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Cynthia publicized events for Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, the Dalai Lama, Pete Seeger, and other world leaders and artists. Cynthia s own search for purpose began in her twenties, leading to the publication of her spiritual memoir, Crazy Quilt: Pieces of a Mennonite Life. She has given inspirational readings and talks at Princeton University, Yale School of Divinity, the American Association of University Women, Barnes and Nobles bookstores, and many other forums. Cynthia studied on the graduate level at Columbia University, receiving her MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Cynthia s writings have appeared in New Jersey Monthly, Mothering, Tiferet, and are included in an upcoming Barclay Press anthology about raising children to understand non-violence.
