The Divine Salvage: First Lesson Sermons for Sundays After Pentecost

While fewer than 25% of the sermons preached from contemporary American pulpits are derived from Old Testament texts, preachers will find in this book new reason to base their sermons on the First Testament, especially Genesis and Exodus. "... among the main characteristics of the First Testament is the demand by God for us to be accountable; to act in ways that exhibit that we are strong in the ways of God and the world, as the people of God... throughout these passages [there is] a profound testimony to the presence of God in the chaos of life... these passages seek to reveal God's steadfast love" (from the Foreword).

The authors of this book write with power and conviction and their messages will become inspiration for the reader and a resource for every preacher.

Chapters include:
Salvaging Our Lives (Genesis 29:15-28)
The Honor of a Limp (Genesis 32:22-31)
Bloody Door Posts (Exodus 12:1-14)
It's Not Over When the Fat Lady Sings (Exodus 17:1-7)
