184pp, with black and white photographic illustrations. Purple cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on spine. 4to. Lightly bumped spine ends. Top and bottom edges of covers sun faded. Yellow endpapers. Page margins starting to tan. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has toe 2cm closed tears on front, shelf wear, price unclipped. The story of the Monterey Jazz Festival which began in 1958 - an idea conceived by Jimmy Lyons who wanted to get out of dingy clubs and into the sunshine.
