A reunion to mark forty years since enrolling at medical school In India reunites four doctors and their families who venture on a trip around scenic Rajasthan. This trip chronicles the highs and lows in their relationship revealing the vulnerabilities of growing old and feeling unloved. Madhavi, has a jaundiced view of men after a failed marriage and an embezzlement scandal.Jyoti, has to contend with a malpractice case and her son’s gambling plan. A mafia don takes advantage of this perfect storm to promote his own agenda.Smita, endeavours to help her husband fight a malpractice suit while she struggles to acknowledge her lesbian relationship.Aditi, is looking for a second chance at love. Will she become the victim of an assailant bent upon revenge.The story travels back and forth between three continents over a forty-year period.The title “Doctors’ Mess” has a double meaning. In a hospital, it is a place for doctors to rest and interact with each other. Mess also aptly refers to the predicament of the doctors on this trip.

I am a Freelance journalist and a retired consultant in pain medicine and anaesthesia in a leading NHS hospital in the United Kingdom. I have been involved in patient care in all aspects over the last 20 years along with charitable work. I have been interested in social values and how it affects individuals and society in general. I am a keen writer and have jointly edited a Community newspaper for six months with a circulation of 200,000 in the inner city of Birmingham UK. Doctors’ Mess is my first attempt at writing fiction.
