Dodge (Paperback)

Caroline Meyers is dead. That much Detective Ripley Brown knows for sure. But finding her killer seems like an impossible task—until he realizes the last man to see the victim alive was a suspect in another unsolved murder case several years earlier.

Feeling the heat of Detective Brown’s suspicions, Dodge turns to the only person he can think of: his ex-girlfriend, Lilly, who also happens to work for the district attorney’s office.

At first, Lilly defends Dodge, but when she herself witnesses his suspicious behavior, she wonders if her trust is misplaced. Meanwhile, another local woman, who was supposed to meet with Dodge to have her horse shoed, has gone missing.

The evidence is quickly mounting against Dodge, but if he turns out to be as innocent as he claims, will the real killer simply walk free?

A thrilling ride through the world of horse racing, Dodge keeps you guessing from start to finish. The book also includes two bonus short stories featuring Detective Brown: “Christmas Lights” and “Friendship Circle.”

P. J. Hick, a graduate of the University of Iowa, has worked in the criminal justice system for twenty-five years. During her free time, she enjoys riding horses.
