Is My Dog OK? How to Know. When Your Dog Won't Say

Is My Dog Okay? Jeff Nichol, D.V.M. helps to alleviate both the needless worry and unnecessary expenses that surround pet care.

It is hard to deny the truly important place pets play in our lives. They are our companions, our friends, and, often inadvertently, our sounding boards. The thousands of Web sites devoted to pet appreciation, care, and merchandise confirm the growing number of pet owners and the power pets hold over them. When it comes to our pets’ health and well-being, there’s little we won’t do-but the financial and emotional cost can be high.

In unique Q&A formats arranged alphabetically by topic, these easy-to-use books offer practical and authoritative answers to the most common questions pet lovers have about taking care of their animals. Written by a “country vet” in a warm, humorous, and conversational style, both books are invaluable references that focus not only on health issues, but also on getting along with pets and keeping them happy. Including everything from listings of ailments with explanations of symptoms and causes to information on common behavioral problems and how to remedy them, Dr. Nichol offers the kind of knowledgeable, comforting advice that makes pet ownership the rewarding experience it should be. He even provides a section on basic first aid every pet owner should know.

Perfect for both new and experienced pet owners, these references will give readers the peace of mind that comes with consulting a trusted vet, without the anxiety of costly consultation.

In one comprehensive book, nearly every canine issue is covered from bringing your dog home for the first time and choosing a vet to treating ailments and behavioral problems such as fleas, worms, ticks, digging, and biting. Including a section on the twelve golden rules to dog ownership, this is a book no dog owner should be without.
