The aim of this book is to analyze the nature of European and North American firms' business experience in India with a particular emphasis on understanding the causes of their successes and failure. Part of this is due to the fact that although India resembles the West in some ways, the institutional environment is radically different from that of Euro-American societies. Differences in culture, politics, the economy, and business structure all make it difficult for a Western manager to act accordingly. This book strives to offer Western managers the knowledge they will need to succeed in business in India.

About the Author

Rajesh Kumar is an associate professor of International Business Strategy at the University of Nottingham. His expertise lies in International Management, Managing Strategic Partnerships, and Cross Cultural Negotiations. He has written extensively on India and is the author of another book International Negotiations in China and India: A comparison of the emerging giants (2011).

Anand Sethi is an independent consultant based in Delhi who has extensive experience in assisting foreign companies establish operations in India. He is currently an advisor to Finnfund where he works closely with Finnish companies seeking to enter the Indian market. His exposure to both the Indian ground reality and Western business practices has been invaluable for foreign companies seeking to enter India.

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on standard-sized books weighing up to 4 LB, or 1.8 KG. If your book order is heavy and/or over-sized and the shipping address is OUTSIDE of The United States, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.

At Mahler Books, we make no attempt to over-charge for shipping. Sometimes International buyers are surprised to discover the high cost of shipping heavy or over-sized books.
If you are located OUTSIDE of The United States, and you are ordering a heavy or over-sized book, the shipping costs are estimated to be about 42 US dollars. This is the cost of the Global Priority Flat Rate Box. I agree that this shipping cost seems excessive, but this is what the Postal Service charges me, and this is the cheapest rate I have been able to locate for large books weighing over 1.8 KG.
