Collated, complete.Among these plates are views of Tudor Halls, Pompeian Villas, Swiss Cottages, and Egyptian Pavilions.Brown's work features chapters on topics including: construction of chimney-flues; situations for country residences; the internal proportions of apartments; decoration of ceilings; laying of foundations; external proportions, and geometrical forms of roofs.From the library of Doctor Malcolm Higgs, an important architectural historian who worked as an assistant architect to Stirling & Gowan, working on their particularly renowned Leicester University Engineering Laboratory. During his long career he taught at the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture, Canterbury School of Architecture, and University of Nottingham. Later in his life he was the Vice-President and Honorary Librarian of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and contributed and edited the "Journal of Architecture". In a quarter morocco binding, with cloth covered boards. Significant rubbing to front joint and back strip head and tail, with small losses of leather to head and tail of spine. Horizontal split to back strip towards head. Front joint starting to head and tail, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally clean and bright, with light spotting to plates. Very Good.
