The author, a teacher of psychic development, has gathered over 9000 terms from popular occultism and arranged them with computer ASCII alphabetization. The brief entries sometimes suffer from compression but are aided by extensive cross-referencing. There are many Oriental as well as popular terms but no etymology. Seven appendixes offer a psychic study course and subject listings of appropriate terms, plus a handy list of words ending in - mancy. While Leslie Shepard's Encyclopedia of Occultism & Parapsychology (Gale, 1984. 2d ed.) offers a better name and historical approach, this work provides a much wider range of terms found in current publications.
