Synopsis
Written specifically for use with the Donvier Ice Cream Maker, this cookbook features eighty-three recipes--each including a reduced-calorie version
Reviews
Modern ice cream makers allow fine frozen treats to be made at home in less than 30 minutes, and here Chalmers, a cookbook writer and publisher, offers close to 100 recipes for ice cream, as well as sorbets, parfaits, sundaes, floats, frappes and all kinds of other iced delights. While traditional favorites are well represented, there are many new treats: red-zinger granite ice cream, espresso ice cream, raisin-chestnut ice cream, brownie ice cream sandwiches, mile-high strawberry pie and even deep-fried ice cream balls. Many of the recipes contain low-calorie variations, but there's no skimping on the nine rich sauces offered. And although the instructions are written specifically for a Donvier Ice Cream Maker, there's nothing to prevent the reader from using these delectable recipes in other ice cream makers.
