Item description from seller

Carries only the 1919 McBride copyright, but as this is an A.L. Burt reprint advertising Doyle's "Case Book of Sherlock Holmes" (1927) to jacket rear panel as well as Mulford's "Bar 20 Rides Again" (1926), we'll surmise this is a 1928 printing. Previous Owner, a medical doctor, has blindstamped his seal to the FFE under the cryptic numbers 46-145. (No, it doesn't show up in our scan.) Very good in a very-good original jacket which is starting to show some rub to mostly black front panel as well as a 3/4-inch triangular chip to bottom outside of the jacket rear panel (impinging no text.) Desperate white women eventually seek drugs in . . . (oh, no!) Chinatown. An important text (albeit fiction) in The Rise of The Dope Fiend Hysteria. 385 pp.; list of other 75-cent Burt fiction in black to jacket verso. Reduced from $212. As with all our items priced at or higher than $90, this item will be shipped "signature required.".
