Full morocco/very Handsome. Condition: Very Good. DORE, Gustave (illustrator). pp.xlvii,plates,152 (description of plates).very special New Zealand binding, executed in Dunedin. Full red red morocco, elaborately tooled with gilt decorations on spine and front board with black and gold medallions set on four corners of the design with a medallion in the middle. This book was bound for the New Zealand and South Sea Exhibition 1889-1890. By Ferguson & Mitchell of Dunedin, at the time the only firm capable of doing such work in the southern hemisphere. The work was carried out by workman trained by Zanesdorf, under the supervision of J. Ingles Wright. aeg. A magnificent copy, unique with this exceptional New Zealand binding. (c.1888).
