[no date]. (hardcover) Very good. 87; 21; 71; 82pp. 16mo. Four 18th century plays in one volume. Many may know Congreve and Steele, the other 2 lesser so. Centlivre was a writer and actress who penned many plays in the early 18th century. Colman was an English essayist and dramatist, usually referred to as 'The Elder" to distinguish him from his son, also George Colman ('The Younger') who was also a playwright. Half bound, leather with marbled boards. Cover is much worn and it is lightly starting at the front hinge and at the title page of 'A Bold Stroke for a Wife'.The play titles are listed in ink, in elegant script, to the front free endpaper.
