Add to basketDoubt, Hope, Action is Uffe Elbaek's journey in search of hope and an invitation to a gentle revolution. In this thoughtful and provocative book, he explores the defining challenges and contradictions of our time, asking one urgent question: What kind of world are we leaving for future generations?
Chapter by chapter, Elbaek confronts the planetary endgame we face: climate collapse, epidemics, violent social, political, and technological conflicts, the weakening of democratic institutions, right-wing radicalisation, resource conflict, regional warfare, and the reemergence of something that looks very much like old-fashioned imperialism. He describes not only the collapse of outer systems, but also the inner structures that shape how people live, hope, and act.
Blending heartfelt optimism with urgent reflection, this 224-page book argues that hope is not passive. It is something to be practiced, organised, and turned into action. For Elbaek, the signs of a different future are already here in communities, businesses, and political voices working toward more democratic and sustainable ways of living.
Doubt, Hope, Action is a timely read for anyone interested in political economy, climate collapse, democratic renewal, social change, and the shared work of building a more just future. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines.
