A collection of nine supernatural short stories by Bram Stoker, published posthumously in 1914 by George Routledge & Sons at the behest of his widow Florence Balcombe. The title story is widely believed to be the deleted opening chapter of Dracula (1897): Florence Stoker writes in her preface that it was "originally excised owing to the length of the book." Toning to text-block; ink name to advertisement leaf; minor lightening and rubbing to cloth, but overall a good copy.
