Meet Douglas, the dragon who's a bit different from the rest. While other dragons are busy battling knights and striking fear into princesses' hearts, Douglas has a rather unusual hobby - he loves picking flowers and baking treats!
Once a clever and patient knight agrees to help Douglas, the dragon trains to become the scariest creature in the land. But along the way, Douglas learns that mean and frightening are hardly the only things that a dragon can be-and that true friendships can be forged anywhere, at any time.?
How to Dragon is a fun, lighthearted picture book with a lead character to whom most young readers can relate, since he just wants to be accepted by his peers and takes steps to gain that acceptance. The book focuses on:
Judith Henderson is a creator of children's content. She is an author/illustrator, children's television producer, composer, and wrote the theme song for the Emmy Award winning PBS show Arthur. Her many books include Big Words Small Stories, This Is a Dog Book!, I Am My Name, and Stewart the Goodheart. Judith loves dogs, books, and coffee. She loves much more stuff too.
Kelly Collier lives in Toronto, Canada with her daughter and husband. She is the author/illustrator of A Horse named Steve and The Imposter, and illustrator of Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle. Like Douglas, Kelly would love to learn the secret to being a proper dragon . . . if only to help her toast hot dog weenies in record time.
