A Good 1821 12mo hardcover in no dust jacket. Marbled end papers and a frontispiece illustration. Starter--exposed binding--following the free front end paper, but the hinge remains tight; large fore edge chip in a blank front end paper. The leaves with pages 83-86 are present but loose and have some fore-edge rubbing.and there is a bit of age tanning throughout. Still, this vintage copy is mark free, fully legible, complete, and aside from the loose leaves mentioned above securely bound. Uniform with the set, light brown leather boards with a decorated gilt border. The spine's backstrip is a darker (sunned?) brown with gilt lettering and decoration. The decoration simulates six bands, with lettering in two of the resulting panels and detailed decoration in the remaining five panels. This backstrip has small scuffs and cracks / wrinkles. Rubbed and well rubbed edges and some surface wear to the boards. No ex-library markings.
