How to Draw Cartoons (Paperback)

Paperback. This book is designed for anyone and everyone who has ever thought that they could have been a cartoonist if only they knew how. Handwritten and hand drawn, it answers questions about cartooning in simple, visual terms. What materials do you use? What size do you draw? How do you caricature, or keep a likeness in a strip cartoon character? These are just a few of the technical problems facing the beginner which Peter Maddocks tackles, but he also considers the inspirational side of cartoons - what comes first, the idea or the artwork; once you've had a bright idea, how do you transfer it on to paper? And he supplies captions and examples of cartoons to help you draw that very first masterpiece. Peter Maddocks was a full time professional Cartoonist, both in National Newspapers, films and TV animation. This item is printed on demand.
