2. Scissor skills involve various aspects: They require hand strength, bilateral coordination, hand-eye coordination, sequencing, and focus. These skills take practice and repetition to develop.
3. Scissor skills promote visual motor and perceptual skills: Practicing scissor skills helps in developing visual motor skills (eye-hand coordination) and visual perceptual skills (following directions).
4. Scissor skills improve fine motor skills and dexterity: Engaging in scissor activities enhances hand and finger dexterity, which assists in fine motor tasks like buttoning clothes and brushing teeth.
5. Scissor skills promote bilateral coordination: Scissor activities encourage the development of bilateral coordination skills, aiding in two-hand coordination.
6. Scissor skills promote functional grasp: Regular practice of scissor skills promotes a functional grasp, which aids in holding and manipulating objects effectively.
7. Scissor skills improve focus and attention: When children focus on practising scissor skills, they also enhance their ability to concentrate and pay attention to a task.
