Most animals are given a double-page spread that includes written instructions and a series of sketches beginning with ovals representing heads and bodies and proceeding gradually to a finished drawing. A clock face shows the angles of the ovals. Together, the written directions and sketches present a simple but specific lesson that will inspire confidence. Twenty-nine animals are illustrated, including a caracal lynx, a scorpion, and a bactrian camel. A brief paragraph gives a few facts about each creature, including its size and where it lives.
