Drawing in Charcoal and Crayon for the use of Students and Schools. By Frank Fowler with an introduction by Charles de Kay. Printed in London by Cassell and Company. 1899, 88 pp, 7 x 5.5, 8vo, hardcover green cloth. In good condition, with slight tears and losses to cloth along perimeter of boards and spine. Hinges remaining good condition and text block remains bound well. Light markings and marginalia. Does not appear to include plates, which may have been issued detached from the volume. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce late 19th Century art manual by Frank Fowler (1852-1910), an American portrait and figure painter who was elected to the National Academy of Design. COLA1899AHJB-0524.
