With surprising clarity and inspiration, Smith takes the student through the basics of materials, drawing fundamentals, simple projects, and advanced techniques. Colored pencils, inks, and paints add vibrant elements missing from older drawing manuals. Hundreds of books are available on this topic, but there are few general works of this quality for the beginner.
