Drawing the Line:; A 1991 Trail Ride Follows the Boundary Commission Trail of 1873 and the Westward Trek of the North West Mounted Police in 1874 Linking Today's Enjoyment of the Old Trail and Local History

In a travelogue with a twist, DRAWING THE LINE follows a troupe of nouveau-pioneers who rode the Boundary Commission North West Mounted Police Trail again in 1991. Pictures and a diary tell the tale of their adventures - sometimes jaunty, sometimes trying. Alongside their 20th Century re-enactment of travel down the old Trail, DRAWING THE LINE takes you inside the diary of George Arhtur French. The inimitable style of his daily entries - and the full text of his report to the Ministry of Justice when Canada's First Commander of the Red Coats had returned from his successful expedition against the wicked whiskey traders of the west - provides the foil for a contemporary horseman's musings. Meet them - and their cohorts - on the Trail through this colorful book.
