Driving Forward in Reverse

Metaphors are one of the many ways that counselors, professional coaches, and teachers help clients and students to gain insights and move forward.
Driving Forward in Reverse: 50 Car Metaphors for Counselors, Teachers, and Life Coaches to Help Others Navigate Life provides examples, anecdotes, and self-discovery exercises using creative ideas with cars--something almost everyone can easily relate to—as a multi-purpose tool to assist others on their life path.
“Brilliant, creative, and saturated in wisdom, John McCarthy and Melissa Lake’s Driving Forward in Reverse is an invaluable resource I will long use as a staple in my work! Clever, thoughtful, and remarkably illuminating, the reader is guided through myriad life challenges using car metaphors as clever as they are distinct. The automobile takes on a completely new meaning as it assists us in navigating such life circumstances as identity, communication, rejuvenation, safety, and so much more. This is a treasure I highly recommend!”
