Drop the Rock: Removing Character Defects

From the Introduction: "To become the person we can become, we must drop the rock - all the grasping and holding to old patterns of behavior, the thoughts and feelings that are harmful to our progress in recovery. Individuals in 12 Step programs soon realize that there is more involved in recovery than giving up the addiction, compulsion, or dependency. The Sixth and Seventh Steps help us let go of self-defeating behaviors such as resentment, fear, self-pity, intolerance, and anger.
