Presumed first edition. Fine, fresh copy in crisp dust jacket with a bit of spine fade. Hardcover. 224 pp. One white man, Ray Willis, has gone into the "tierra prohibitiva", the land beyond the River Tapajos and had heard the terrible drums beating and seen another white man die of terror at hearing them. But the dying man had given Ray an ancient jewel-encrusted knife and ray felt there was more treasure to be found. He and three more companions hear the scream and find the fresh tracks of a canivorous dinosaur.
