xii 289 pages, advert leaf, top edge gilt pages uncut, tall 8vo., 25 full page plates. Publishers' olive green cloth with gilt title within gilt border to the upper cover, light rubbing to the head of spine and corners 2 small chips to the base of the spine, a very good copy of the FIRST EDITION. Halford acquired a rod on the fishery in 1889, after a disappointing season in 1888 at Houghton, Halford's second book which became the major work on chalk stream art.
