LETAROUILLY, Paul. EDIFICES DE ROME MODERNE. Two volumes. Liege and Paris: D. Avanzo, 1843 and 1874. Folio. Quarter-morocco, boards. Frontispiece, (ii), plates 1-102;(ii), 2 pages, plates 115-231. Volumes I and II (of three) first published from 1840 to 1857. The plates were a much used source for Renaissance details and ideas. Letarouilly (1795-1855,) was a pupil of Percier who first traveled to Italy in 1820, where he began his sketches. Bindings heavily worn; edges of some plates thumbed; minor sporatic foxing.
