La Janira va cr�ixer amb la prohibici� d’apropar-se al mar. Les dones que volien tocar l’aigua, desapareixien. �Se les mengen els monstres i els �ssers que s’amaguen a l’abisme�, li deia l’avia. Per aix� les noies escrivien a les pedres els noms de les amigues i germanes desaparegudes, per recordar-les. Per� el mar era insaciable, perqu� fins i tot aix� s’emportava.
Tot i aix� la Janira, com altres noies del poble, sent la veu del mar, que visita els seus somnis i alimenta el desig de mirar m�s enll� de les normes que les condemnen a estar lligades. A viure tancades, sense horitz�. I vol descobrir si tot all� que batega entre les roques, a les profunditats del mar, �s real o si nom�s s�n supersticions.
Els fils del mar �s un cant a la llibertat, a l’acceptaci� d’un mateix, per� tamb� �s un relat esfere�dor que ens parla del desig, del control, de les cordes que dibuixen fronteres i ens lliguen, de la manera amb qu� una hist�ria pot marcar-nos la pell.
