Pp. 288, 8 plates (4 coloured, including the frontispiece), black & white title page vignette and text illustrations, pictorial endpapers; cr. 4to; blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, upper board in blind, edges lightly rubbed and fore-corners slightly bruised, the lower board slightly soiled and damp stained; bookseller's sticker at foot of upper pastedown, the free endpapers faintly offset, hinges tender at a couple of points, outer leaves and edges foxed; The Boy's Own Paper Office, London, n.d. *Contributors include Major J.
