Edinburgh, printed for A. Bell and C. MacFarquhar, 1797, probably original full leather binding, about 11 x 8 ¾ inches, 799 (+ one errata page), illustrated in B&W with 31 engraved plates (all present according to the plate list at end) BUT plates 254 (folding map of East Indies) is duplicated. The second one is placed where the plate 255 is supposed to be but this one (cclv) is missing. Cover is complete but the two boards are detached and there are some missing pieces to spine (see images). Interior is in very good condition ; text-block is solidly bound except for the last page with last endpaper that are almost detached too. All pages are clean without noticeable foxing. We checked every page, one by one and we have found only a 1 inch tear to the lower margin of plate 260 (ccxl).
