High-Lonesome Books, located in the foothills of the Gila National Forest of southwest New Mexico, has been in business since 1986. We are a home-based publishing firm with over 20 titles in print within the genres of Western Americana and Sporting Books (hunting, fishing, sporting dogs, etc.). Our list of published books is combined with our used, rare and out of print list which currently has about 3,000 titles in stock -- Western Americana, Sporting Books, Natural History, Country Living/Homesteading, Outdoor Adventure/Recreation/Miscellaneous. High-Lonesome Books was the front cover feature story for the September 1998 issue of Mother Earth News. When not publishing or trading in used books we are active homesteaders; we hunt, fish, raise coursing hounds, grown our own food and explore what's left of the rural and wilderness Southwest.
