Este trabajo asume una postura feminista que reconoce la opresio�n contra las mujeres desde una perspectiva te�rica de intersecci�n entre los sistemas de opresi�n, de g�nero, clase, etnia, raza y sexualidad. Se analiza la multidimensionalidad de la violencia contra las mujeres en las relaciones de intimidad, y las din�micas de poder, control y resistencia. La perspectiva feminista y de g�nero de gu�a de este trabajo se enfoca en la resistencia de las mujeres den su vida personal, familiar y social. Adem�s, propone un modelo de empoderamiento de las mujeres ante la opresi�n y la violencia. En el an�lisis, se consideran las dimensiones personales, interpersonales y sociopoliticas, el proceso complejo a trav�s del cual una mujer entra y sale de una relaci�n violenta, as� como el lugar socio hist�rico donde estan situadas y las m�ltiples opresiones que enfrentan. Uno de los objetivos de este libro es enfatizar lo imprescindible que es entender la complejidad de la violencia dom�stica y reconocer que las mujeres constantemente desaf�an las definiciones tradicionales de lo que es enfrentar una relaci�n.
