- Octavo, maroon cloth titled in gilt on spine & in gilt within frame stamped in gilt with device in gilt on front cover. The covers are bumped & lightly rubbed. The spine is slightly faded with slight fraying to the head. Title, 2 leaves, [ii] & 184 pp. An owner's bookplate is mounted on the front pastedown with offsetting to the front endpaper. There are some pencil markings & underlinings in the text. Illustrated with B&W diagrams & music staves. Good. Gehrkens was Professor of School Music at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
