Grey cloth covers with gold lettering on the spine which is bright. Light bumping to upper corner of the back cover. Previous owners name written in black marker on the upper page ends and again on the ffep. The main text is clean and unmarked however, there is underlining in red ink and markings in the margins of the Biographical Essay in the back of the book. Hinges are tight. Illustrated dj is in a protective mylar cover with small tears, chips and soiling on upper edges and spine ends. Moderate soiling and shelf wear to covers, edges, spine and hinges. "An attempt to analyze how this unholy alliance (the interaction of scientific and social thought) came about and to assess its influence on various aspects of American life."
