Complete Set of 3 Volumes. Elephant Folio. 17 1/2" Tall. Beautifully and profusely illustrated with Full-Page engraved Plates. Period Brown Suede Full-Leather bindings with 6 raised bands to spine, titles and Vol. os. in compartments. Blind tooled panel design on fronts & backs. Marbled endpapers. Vol. I, Frontis Portrait of Matthew Henry. Preliminary pages contain Prefaces dated 1706 & 1761 & Life of Matthew Henry, 96 Pages. Main Text, printed in Double Columns, unpaginated, each volume is about 3" thick. Genealogical entries on last 2 blank leaves at the back, first entry dated 1793. Winn Family. No other inscriptions. Vol. II, has a Preface to Poetical Books, Hinges sound and text blocks firm in all 3 books. Some Plates have browning, not spotty but fairly even. Very faint old damp stains in bottom corner of first and last few pages. Vol. II, some loss to leather at top of spine, almopst 1/2 top compartment and a very narrow strip from bottom of spine. Very heavy set so shipping outside UK may be extra.
