Art always has a message. In the hands of an artist, a paintbrush has the power to inflame the senses, evoke a visceral response, affect the mood, captivate the imagination or uplift the consciousness.
In Expressions from the Divine, the author and painter, Ingeborg Martinez, takes her work a step beyond what lies upon the canvas. She was guided to give voice to the messages behind the visual images and to share the heart song of the universe through poetry as well as pictures. Spirit speaks through her words and paintings to reveal a greater canvas.
These 52 images and the associated poems inspire and comfort the reader and could be used as a practice to begin each week with an uplifting thought and image to fill the seven days with a sense of the joy of being alive. The text takes the reader through not only gratitude about the many gifts of the year, but also touch on the struggles one is likely to meet in a lifetime.
This book is for those who desire to fortify their faith or want to feel the support of the Divine during difficult times. The pages reflect the author's experiences with the joys she has appreciated and sorrows she's endured.
Whether given as a gift or purchased for personal fulfillment, this book is sure to delight.

Review
Inga’s artwork kindles associations to wonderful memories of the ev- eryday experience. I
immediately was drawn to several pieces because of her choices of subject matter which evoked an
instant emotional con- nection for me.
My heart soared when I saw them. Her style of realistic impressionism, full of vivid color and a
richness of life, brings a responsiveness that gladdens the heart.
I am thrilled to have several of her pieces hanging in my home. They simply brighten my life.”
—Lynn Wiss, Retired Teacher
“Inga and I have been friends for a long time. I have known her through good and bad times. I have
watched her painting week after week.
We have kept in touch during her physically good and painful days. Through her faith, shown in her
words and paintings, there is encour- agement and strength for today and tomorrow. I am looking
forward for her sharing these words and paintings.”
—Van Jones, Retired Minister
