About the Author
Paul Schwertmann is the only son of an immigrant. His dad was born in Austria and came to the United States in 1909. Paul married at twenty-four. He was married for twenty-three years and divorced. He was single for twenty-three years and then married his first love whom he met while they were in their teens fifty-two years earlier. They were married for fourteen years and four months, and then the Lord took her home. The home then seemed empty. Their pet, a little white poodle, Lexie, also missed the woman of the happy home and would spend weeks lying at the door, waiting and listening for her master's footsteps, which never came.
