Contains library markings in ink and a bookplate for the Library of the Union Free School District of Vernon & Lenox. Foxing throughout, but otherwise unmarked interior pages. Contains frontispiece and title page illustration. Esther Copley (1786-1851) was a prolific English author, publishing children's books, tracts, domestic economy and cookbooks, and biographies. She also wrote A History of Slavery and its Abolition. Hardcover, good condition. 174 pages plus publisher's list, 18mo.
