Reviews
PreS Up Causley's 40 original poems, half of them set to music by Anthony Castro, shine as brightly as the title implies. The poems evoke the best of traditional children's nursery rhymes (``Johnny come over the water/ And make the sun shine through'') and songs (``Mistletoe new/ Mistletoe old/ Cut it down/ With a knife of gold'') while still retaining a clear, original air. Illustrations in black-and-white ink or with watercolor wash dance through the book as though they can hear the music. A book to enjoy any time of day, especially by those who have a piano or guitar ready to make the songs sing.Kathleen D. Whalin, Public Library of Columbus and Franklin County, Reynoldsburg, Ohio
