EarthLight: The Power of EarthLight and the Human Perspective

Experience the awe and wonder of space through the eyes of Dr. Sian Proctor, mission pilot for the groundbreaking Inspiration4 mission—the first all-civilian mission to orbit. In her latest book, EarthLight, Dr. Proctor shares the profound and transformative experience of viewing Earth from space, bathed in a unique and beautiful light known as "EarthLight."

EarthLight is not just the story of a remarkable journey but a deep dive into the science and impact of this phenomenon. When sunlight passes through the Earth's atmosphere and reflects off its surface, it transforms into "EarthLight," a phenomenon that has fascinated astronauts and scientists alike. Dr. Proctor delves into the scientific intricacies of EarthLight, exploring its significance for environmental studies and climate research.

This book also uncovers the profound emotional impact of EarthLight, often described as the "overview effect"—a common experience among space travelers that instills a sense of unity, interconnectedness, and a newfound appreciation for our planet. Dr. Proctor shares her personal encounters with this emotion and includes riveting stories from fellow astronauts, detailing how EarthLight and the overview effect have changed their perspectives forever.
