Easy Baroque Pieces for Classical Guitar

Easy Baroque Pieces for Classical Guitar (Book/Online Audio), compiled and edited by Jerry Willard, is a classical guitar songbook and sheet music collection for the beginner to intermediate guitarist exploring music of the Baroque period. It brings together works and themes associated with J.S. Bach, Handel, Pachelbel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Purcell, Sanz, Zamboni, and other composers, making it a useful collection for learning, practice, repertoire building, and performance.

The collection includes standard notation and guitar tablature, along with explanations of characteristic Baroque ornamentation such as trills, mordents, and notes inégale. Online audio performances by Jerry Willard accompany the music using the provided code. The audio can be streamed or downloaded, while PLAYBACK+ provides practice functions including slowing audio without changing pitch, setting loop points, changing keys, and panning left or right.

The varied repertoire offers opportunities to explore the rhythmic continuity, polyphonic textures, melodic ornamentation, dances, airs, preludes, and familiar themes associated with Baroque music.
