Reviews
This book by the author of Decks: How To Design and Build the Perfect Deck for Your Home (Rodale, 1992) begins with a thorough discussion of safety, tools, and materials. Specific projects follow, arranged according to the area?e.g., kitchen, office, or bedroom?in which the shelves or storage fixtures will be installed. In modern, conversational, and straightforward language, Snyder presents many useful and shop-savvy tips. His designs rely heavily on power tools, although most projects can be completed with simple hand tools, albeit at a much slower pace. The illustrations are large, informative, and well positioned, but the index is abbreviated and much too short to be of use. Still, most large woodworking collections will want a copy.?Alexander Hartmann, INFOPHILE, Williamsport
