Mackenzie Leighton is a writer, musician, and florist who lives in Paris, France.  Originally from Maine in the Northeastern United States, she studied social justice and arts activism at New York University and then moved to Paris upon graduating in 2017. She spends her time playing concerts with her band, crafting bouquets for clients, and traveling around Europe to get inspiration for her future albums.
As an expat that is very integrated in the Parisian scene, Mackenzie has cultivated a handful of local tips, particularly when it comes to food. She grew up in a home where dinner was an important time of the day where the whole family could come together and appreciate a good meal and good company. Her parents also instilled in her a strong sense of curiosity for discovering other cultures, as her first trip to Paris was at the young age of five.
As her partner is French, she now has been immersed in the culture and customs of dining in a French family and has seen how they differ from her American upbringing. She hopes to share this knowledge with her readers, hoping to inspire others to discover new food and cultures in the process.
