Tall Folio Hardback, approx 22.5 x 15.5 inches. Halfbound maroon leather and textured/pattern maroon silk cloth to boards. Raised banding and gilt lettering to spine. Decorative gilt lettering to front. Yellow endpapers. In very good condition. Leather with surface rubbing to edges and ends of spine. Cloth faded on boards. Corners bumped with some chips to leather. Strong binding with cloth-reinforced inner gutters. Inscription to front ?Presented to Herbert Hutchings Esq by his old friend W.H. Turner, In Memoriam. 1 January 1863.? Original bookseller label to corner below ?J. A. Molteng, Pall Mall.? One tear to edge of prelim opposite title page. Some moderate dark foxing to decorative title. Some occasional foxing spots and handling marks to pages and plates. Some minor darkening and rubbing to a few edges. Else a very good clean and tight copy. Volume 1 Only. 10pp Intro. Illustrated with 40 lithographed plates, including a colour & gilt decorative title page, toned views and B&W plans.
