Each chapter introduces new concepts and illustrates each with examples. At the end of each chapter are a number of problems designed to provide the reader with an opportunity to explore the calculations on their own. The solutions for each of these problems are available in the Problem Solutions Manual which also explores Excel applications and the use of financial calculators to solve various exercises.

About the Author
John M. Stermole, B.S.B.A., Finance, University of Denver, and M.S., Mineral Economics, Colorado School of Mines, is President of Investment Evaluations Corporation and has taught as a Lecturer at Colorado School of Mines for the Departements of Mineral Economics, Chemical and Petroleum Refining Engineering, and Environmental Sciences. John also served as a Fellow to the Institute for Global Resources Policy at Colorado School of Mines. and was co-author in the 1st Edition of the Global Mining Taxation Comparative Study.
Since 1997 he has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Denver, College of Law in the Natural Resources and Enviornmental Law Program. In addition, John has taught more that 350 "Economic Evaluation" short courses for minieral, petroleum and non-mineral companies and government agencies areound the world.
